Tallows Beach Australia Surf Travel Guide

Tallows Beach Byron Bay Australia

Tallows is the back beach at Byron Bay and favours northerly winds and south swells which makes for hollow righthanders. However, it works on other swell directions and produces peaks up and down the beach.

Tallows is a favorite with the locals and hordes of tourist surfers, backpackers and swimmers. Tallows beach is a highly esteemed surf spot and is thankfully a swell magnet with 3ft+ waves breaking when The Pass may be 1ft or less.

Alternatively, you can fly out from Coolangatta and taking a flight down to Melbourne to surf Bells Beach or over to Perth in West Australia to have a crack at Margaret River.
