Maroubra, otherwise known as The Bra, is the stomping ground of the 'Bra boys. The beach is 400-yards of beachbreak peaks. Winds need to be from the north or south-west with a good E/NE swell. This place so much better than Bondi beach and thankfully most of its ferocious reputation as a fighting beach has faded away.

While you are in Sydney you should consider surfing Avalon Beach, Whale Beach, Newport beach or Dee Why. Alternatively, you can fly out from Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport and take a flight up to the Gold Coast to surf the legendary Superbank or over to Perth in West Australia to have a crack at some heavier waves like Margaret River.
