Burleigh Heads on Queensland's Gold Coast is a world class, sandy/rock bottom righthand point that is considered to be a world class wave for its quality of wave and length. When its really cooking, from 3ft-10ft, surfers can get rides up to 300m long before you'll have to get out and run back up the point.

The wave has varying sections with super clean, deep barrels and ripable walls. Burleigh is a natural footers dream come true!

Burleigh Heads is the halfway stop between Coolangatta and Surfers Paradise and is heavily populated area so often is crowded out. You'll find scores of surf shops and surfboard shapers in the Burleigh area.

While you are in the area you should consider surfing the The Alley, Superbank and Duranbah before travelling down to Byron Bay to surf The Pass, or a further hour south to Lennox Head. Alternatively you can fly out from Coolangatta and taking a flight down to Melbourne to surf Bells Beach or over to Perth in West Australia to have a crack at Margaret River.
